The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) has chosen the
Agfa Vista film range as the "European Colour Print Film of
the Year 2001-2002".
The award will be presented on 24 August to mark the 20th anniversary
of EISA, ahead of this year's Internationale Funkausstellung consumer
electronics exhibition in Berlin.
The acronym EISA stands for an association consisting of more than
40 leading professional magazines from 20 European countries that
deal with every aspect of photography, video, audio, home theatre
and multimedia.
In explaining the reasons for this year's choice, the EISA jury
– which is made up of editors-in-chief and technical editors – emphasises
Agfa's Eye-Vision technology.
This technology makes for more precise colour rendition. Red looks
less aggressive, blue more natural, and the hues of green have been
improved. Eye-Vision technology proves to be particularly advantageous
when taking photos in fluorescent light.
EISA recommends the Agfa Vista 200 and Vista 400 as all-round films,
while the Vista 800 is best in difficult lighting conditions and
the Vista 100 for optimum definition and very fine grain.
The conferment of the EISA Award on the Vista films once again confirms
that the professional world also appreciates the innovative achievements
of Agfa's outstanding products.
